![]() It is the best tried and true DIY method, though as I told you it isn't the only one. It can, and will, also change the injector pulsewidth, the knock (if any, and almost always the knock voltage), the engine load, the MAF counts, the coolant temp (though depends on various things), the AFR (depends on various things also but should remain the same unless the injectors are not up to snuff) and a few other things I can't remember right now. A seemingly simple thing like altering ignition timing can have a great effect on much more than just the timing. You have to take baby steps and log a lot to understand fully what a change does to the car. The absolute hardest part is deciding what to change. The on/off are simply binary code, one or zero which you should know quite well having a programming background. Sometimes the description will have information on what to set the values/table to to turn a switch on or off or to scale a table. ![]()
